About Fox Tor

The Fox Tor Café, or FTC as we're known to some of our regulars, is situated close to the centre of Princetown which boasts 2 pubs, a local store/post office, the High Moorland Visitor Centre, The Dartmoor Centre for Creativity, library, Prison museum and the Old Smithy! The café offers free WiFi to our customers and has fantastic mobile reception. We have an open fire as well as a wood burner for the cold winter months and Bunkhouse accommodation for those of you needing clean and cheap accommodation. Princetown offers some of the most beautiful views along with some of the most gruelling sports. The Dartmoor Devil cycle race goes through and uses the café as a checkpoint, we also offer help and sustainance to those involved with the Dartmoor Ultra Marathon.

The Café plays a huge part in the Ten Tors season, keeping all the leaders fed and watered after dropping their groups off on the Moors. We have a resident group who go by the name of the Dartmoor Plodders, they are in and out for breakfasts and Hot Chocolates most weekends. Tavistock is the nearest town - approx 15 minutes drive away. Princetown is the ideal location for anyone wishing to spend time on Dartmoor - with so many activities right on the doorstep - walking, climbing and mountain biking to name but a few.
